In 1784, three young Charleston friends had a dream: to create an excellent rum company. Like many, they were tired of paying high taxes for inferior rum. They knew they could do better. And so in 1784, the Rumney Distillery was born. The spirit it distilled was a spirit that would inspire. And while the journey was short-lived, the impact was not. Inspired by the past, the spirit of creativity, passion and excellence is alive and well today.
